Fright Lines Horror-Themed Literary Open Mic Nights

Welcome, Creatures of the Night! We’re thrilled you’re considering joining our haunted gatherings. Prepare to cast your stories into the darkness and share your eerie voice with the world.

Fright Lines open mic nights are uncensored realms where your creativity can roam free—no vetting, no filters. However, keep in mind that you are the master of your creation. The views expressed during performances are the sole responsibility of the performer and do not reflect the opinions of the event organizers, venues, or affiliates. By stepping up to the mic, you acknowledge this spectral truth.

A Few Rules to Keep the Shadows in Check:

Be Respectful – We’re here to get creepy, not cruel. Hate speech, discrimination, and harassment will not be tolerated. If your words cross these dark boundaries, we reserve the right to end your performance faster than a ghost vanishing into thin air.

Give a Heads-Up – If your piece includes triggering content (violence, abuse, trauma, etc.), please offer a quick content warning beforehand. We believe in letting our audience choose whether they want to face the darkness—or escape it.

This is a Shared Space – The crypt is big enough for everyone, but time is fleeting. Please respect your time limit and leave space for others to be heard. We’re all in this together, so let’s keep it supportive.

All Ages / Mixed Company – Be mindful of your language and themes, especially with regard to the venue, which may be hosting patrons who are not aware of the Fright Lines open mic night. Even monsters need to play nice sometimes.

Thank you for helping us maintain this safe, thrilling, and respectful space where creativity can grow in the dark corners of your mind. Break a leg, and may your performance haunt us in all the right ways!
